I was always moved by Peter's love of birds and his interest in flowers and the natural environment. We spent some great times together visiting gardens and walking in the countryside. He loved it when I knew the names of flowers and plants, especially the Latin ones, and I felt equally touched when he shared his experiences of seeing birds and birdsong and his impressive knowledge about them. I always learnt something in the presence of Peter.
