Peter was born on 28th December 1954 at Chase Farm Hospital in Enfield.

He spent his childhood years in North London, and his early adolescence in Eastbourne, before coming back to North London.

He lived and worked in many places, London, Richmond, Guildford, before moving down to Brighton. He managed the Waterstone's bookshop for a longish period, and continued to live in Brighton even after his employment with them came to an end.

He moved to Frome two years ago, and has been much happier there, free of the bad memories associated with Brighton, surrounded by good friends and enjoying the local musical scene. Unfortunately he was not given much time to enjoy it, as he fell ill in September and after the diagnosis things moved much quicker than expected.

He accepted his fate with courage, and was still determined to learn and understand. He was listening to the history of Europe and reading on philosophy and religion right to the end. He said several times that he was quite happy, having seen or spoken to old friends, and surrounded by people looking after him.

He also said that he hoped people would come to his funeral or take a moment to think of him at that time. He organized many of the funeral details himself, and said that it might well be the usual chaos. To dress in whatever you feel comfortable in - no need for formality. He said it would be nice to think that you are sad to see me go but I want you to be happy for me and yourselves that I have gone so well.

He died at home in Frome on 14th December 2016.
